Today, my brief about travel itinerary is the New York city (in English now :)!
Firstly we bought the air tickets(Latam sales promotion) in the last November and then we prepare to issue Agnes’s passport. In March we took the USA Visa smooth.
We travelled on June 8th and arrived in JFK airport at 7:30am on June 9th. In Immigration Department I had a little mess because they put us on the separate queues, but soon after everything have been solved.
We took the Air Train airport to Jamaica Station and then bought the Metrocard Unlimited (for 7 days – $30) and went to Penn Station at 34th street (big stores street in Manhattan). – Travel time approximate 60 minutes. – I was carrying a backpack and so do Agnes, then after 4 hours I was so tired and we went to the hotel.
The Hotel (Mayflower Howard Johnson) was on Long Island (1st station in Queens). We liked the room/bathroom, customer service, and physical structure a lot. I recommend it!
At 6pm we went to Rockefeller Centre, St. Patricks Cathedral and Times Square. We finished the night at Bubba Gump Restaurant (Times Square). Awesome! – They are specialized in shrimp and the theme of décor is the Forrest Gump Movie.
➔ That night I realized that NY is more expensive than Toronto. (touristically)
In this day we went to meet the Soho, Chinatown, and Little Italy for hours. We had lunch in LA NONNA Italian restaurant that’s situated at Mulberry St. and they have a delicious Marguerita pizza! (this is region that more we liked)
After some stores in the neighbourhood, we arrived next to Court, City Hall, World Trade Centre One and September 11 Memorial.
One place quite beautiful and sad simultaneously.
We left the hotel when dusk and took a night off.
(our feet were crushed)
In the third day, we direct our trip to Art and we went to History Natural Museum and Metropolitan Museum – in the both cases we paid $1.00 each person because they accept a donation for tickets. #tip
We took this opportunity to meet the Central Park and stretched our legs on the grass.
We went to the hotel and we dressed up for the night at Times Square. We met the Tonic Bar Karaoke (49th with 7th) and we loved the beers, snacks, and the songs.
We left there approximately 1:00a.m. and we went to hotel seamlessly. Midway I discovered a Tim Hortons Coffeeshop enjoying to drink a ‘double double coffee’.
This day was my birthday and we went to Brooklyn. We took subway “F Line” and we got off at York Station. We met the street corner that eases up the Manhattan Bridge view (Water St/Washington St):
After the photo session, we went to Jane’s Carousel and Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory (tasty). This local is on edge Hudson River and next to Brooklyn Bridge.
On the occasion, we took the Water Taxi at Pier 1 and enjoyed the boat tour around Manhattan View, Liberty Statue and others five piers on the river.
We had lunch at Greenwich Village (beautiful neighbourhood) and also we went to Wall Street region. We went back to Brooklyn and ended the afternoon at Target Supermarket.🙂
By night we went to toast my birthday to Tonic Bar Karaoke (when is cool we return) and enjoyed until 2a.m.
This day we slept in.
We had lunch in Chelsea Market and then we went for a walk in High Park.
We went to meet the Grand Terminal Central and we went to Mc. Sorleys Old Ale House (next to Washington Square Park) – this place is an Irish Pub wich was open at 1854 and is an excellent bar to drink an artisanal beer ($2.75 each). It’s a place full history and I wanna return as soon as possible.
At night we met friends at Times Square.
Last day we did check out in the hotel at 11a.m. (leave the bags in reception) and we went to buy the last things at Marshalls Store, Bed Bath & Beyond Store and finished at Zio Ristorant (19th st between 6th av/5th av).
We returned to the hotel to picked up our bags and called the Limo($45) to the airport. (travel time:1 hour)
The Latam Airlines was very confused and JFK Airport was slow and crowded.
I recommend this trip. Worthwhile!
